BANGKOK – The rector of Kasetsart University announced yesterday that he will close the Bangkhen campus and move all summer class students to the Kamphaeng Saen Campus for awhile to avoid the flood.


      On September 27th in commons, Assoc.Prof.Wuttichai Kapilkarn, rector of Kasetsart University announced that he will close the Bangkhen campus for awhile and move all summer class students to the Kamphaeng Saen campus to avoid the flood. “After Meteorological Department warned that there will be a strongly typhoon again and our campus is in a risk area,” Assoc.Prof.Wuttichai said. “We plan to move in next two week.”


      “Actually, the Bangkhen campus has been damaged by flood since last month,” Assoc.Prof.Wuttichai said. “It will be a great time for rebuilt and find the way to protect our campus from flooding in next time.”


      However, Assoc.Prof.Wuttichai also said that it good for students who want to graduation in time, so they can study summer classes at the Kamphaeng Saen Campus.
      

      Mr.Vittawat Lamtean, The student president of the Bangkhen campus feels worry about the moving of summer classes students from Bangkhen campus to the Kamphaeng Saen Campus.  “It will difficult for students who have a hometown in Bangkok to find a dormitory when they come to study a summer class,” Mr.Vittawat said. “I decide to talk with the rector to assist in providing a place for them.”

BANGKOK  Ministry of Public Health (MPB) found a marijuana 20 milligram in ichitan green tea while checking the local product quality yesterday.  


       Icitan Greentea, a famous greentea beverage, was proved that it is best seller beverage because it has a little marijuana that can make people drug it.


       Ministry of Public Health (MPB) said that "this is a very serious story, Mr. Tun Pasakonatee should close his company as soon as possible and get rid of his beverage." Moreover, Ministry of Public Health prepare to check all of Mr. Tun Pasakornatee's company such as Tokiya restaurant, Ichitan Izakaya buffet, including his wife company, Melt Me.


       Mr. Tun Pasakonatee, Ichitun Greentea company owner said he did not know about his drink has marijuana before. He think his competitor against him. he will fight to the end because he confident that he executed correctly.

       However, at present, Ichitun Greentea beverage was get rid of and ban for 3 months or until Mr. Tun can prove that Ichitun greentea does not have any marijuana and he was against.

in World Student Culinary Challenge 2012

SEOUL – The cooking students from Silpakorn University won bronze prize in cooking and decorations dessert dishes contest in The World Student Culinary Challenge (WSCC) 2012 at a hotel in Seoul yesterday.


       On September 26th in commons, The World Student Culinary Challenge 2012 was arranged at the Hotel La Casa Seoul, Korea.  For this year, there are many students around the world attended in the challenge such as from United State, Canada, France, Australia, Korea, Japan, Thailand and several other countries.


        For the result, Thailand got two bronze prizes from two challenge programs by third year students from Silpakorn University Ms.Thanyatorn Chuwanon (the left in the picture) won the bronze prize from a freestyle meat cooking challenge which has 8 competitors around the world. “It quite hard to compete with them,” Ms.Thanyatorn said after won the prize. “Anyway, although I got only bronze prize, I still feel happy because it is a big challenge for me and I do all my best.”


        Another girl is Ms.Saranya Pukkaweth (the right in the picture) won the bronze prize from a decorations dessert dishes contest which has 12 competitors. “I'm a little bit hurry in 5 minute before time out,” Ms.Saranya said. “By the way, it is a good experience for me even though I won only bronze prize.


        For the next year, The World Student Culinary Challenge will arrange in Tokyo, Japan. “The next year will have surprises,” Organizers said. “We decide to change the number of the day from two-days to three-days and the challenge will have several kinds than before.”

BANGKOK  The Faculty of Fine Arts of Srinakharinwirot University classified in top ten of the best faculty for study acting in Asia, ABAC poll indicates yesterday.


       According to the ranking of Asia universities of Asia University Rankings 2012 has classified the various faculty of the university.  The results showed that the Faculty of Fine Arts of Srinakharinwirot University ranked in top ten of the best faculty for study acting.


       ABAC poll, the ranking organization in Thailand explains that there are other universities from Thailand ranking in the rank but Srinakharinwirot University is the only one that ranked in top ten. "Srinakharinwirot University also ranked in the same group of other leading universities across Asia such as City University of Hong Kong, Kyung Hee University, Nanjing University, Osaka University and several other universities,” ABAC poll said.


       Moreover, The Faculty of Fine Arts of Srinakharinwirot University also has been ranked in fifteenth of the best faculty for study painting in Asia University Rankings 2010.  “This is another step forward of the University of Thailand that has been ranked in the Asia University Rankings,” One of academician from ABAC poll said.


       In addition, there are other faculty from Srinakharinwirot University ranked in the Asia University Rankings 2012 such as, Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Humanity.

LOS ANGELOS  —  David Becham , a football legend who is currently playing for Los Angelis Galaxy will retire from professional football  in November after a 19 – year career by terminating his 1 year  contact  left with LA Galaxy.


       Beckham, 36, said he would retire in November even if he still has 1 year left for playing for LA Galaxy because he is having some health problems and he cannot continue as a professional football player.


       “I just feel fulled and want to stop,” Beckham said. “I do not think it is easy to stop doing something that you do every day for the whole of your life. But now I think it is the time to stop for me. I would spend  time to take care of my health and my family more.”


       Beckham is very successful in his career. Sponsorship deals and branding of products for various companies is also an additional boost to Beckham fame and wealth. Moreover, He founded David Beckham Academy football school. The superstar footballer added about his retirement


       “I want to give a chance for a new generation footballers so I will look after my football school more after my retirement,”


       For broken contract with LA Galaxy Beckham said he will have agreement with the club and ready to pay for compensation.

BANGKOK  Kemmanij Jamikorn ,Srinakarinwiroth University (SWU) freshmen made the new record of 100m running 11.12 second in University sport game 2012 yesterday at CU stadium, Chulalongkorn University ,the host of university sport game 2012 tournament.


       At the last day of University sport game 2012 as its name Prakeaw game had many track and field sports competition at CU stadium. The highlight of the competition was  the new record of university sports game by SWU freshmen in the 100m with 11.12 second.


       Miss Jamikorn broke the old record of Woranooch Wongsawan, Bangkok university student who did record 11.95 second last year at university sport game 2011 (Chaingmai game)


       Miss Jamikorn is the dark horse of the match because she was not the favorite candidates. This year was her first time for attending the competition in university sport game. However, she is a rising star in running field because she was the second champion in Youth running Thailand.


       “I did not expect this gold medal,” Miss Jamikorn said after the race.”I am really glad to win this gold among many great runners. They are technical and experienced atheletes, so getting this gold medal is incredible. By the way, I am really thankful to my coach and all my supporters.”


       On the other hand, Miss Wongsawan who got the silver medal in this race also  congratulates the new champion.


       “I am a bit disappointed but Kemanij  did a really great job. I have to congratulate her for winning the gold medal. I hope both of us can compete in other tournaments.”

Thailand wins Asian cup

Tokyo,Japan –  Thailand won The Asian Cup football Tournament for the first time in their history yesterday with a 1-0 victory over Japan at Nignata Stadium, Japan.


     Japan being the host of the tournament, is tipped as the favorite team to win the tournament. The final match kick off at exactly 4:00pm.Thailand kick off the match and it was a very tough finals as predicted by football experts. Both team showcase good football artistry and team work, with strength in midfield.


     There are a lot of goal opportunities from both sides but were wasted. The centre referee had to stamp his authority on the game as it was becoming too physical with rough tackles from both teams towards the end of the second half. Five yellow cards was given out before full time with Japan receiving two yellow cards while three was given to Thailand.


     The game had to go into extra time and Japan this time kick off the extra time. The highlight of the game came after Japan team were reduced to 10 men.Japan’s Nobita Takamura foul tackle on Teeradej Wongpuapan in the penalty box led to his dismissal. The centre referee sent him off with a red card and awarded a penalty in favour of Thailand.


     This was the moment Thailand was waiting for, Parin Suparat stepped up to take the spot kick. He scored sending the Japan goalkeeper the wrong way. It was a great moment for the players as the jubilates with excitement.


     Japan fought back strongly and with the crowd behind them nearly got an equalizer when Hino Kawasaki long range effort hits the crossed bar.


     The centre  referee signaled and blew the final whistle and behold a new Asian Champion is born.
      

     “That was amazing,” Suparat said in a post match news conference. “It was incredible”. It was such a memorial match in my life.I cannot express my joy. I want to thank everyone who supported us, my family  and my fans. I am really happy with this massive victory,”
Thailand Coach, Pongpat Vachirabanjong also said about his team’s victory:


      “Today we receive the reward of our hard training and dedication and team work,” he said


      “I am glad to be part of history in Thailand football” Japan team coach, Tsuneo Kugimiya admitted the lost.


     “We had chances but wasted them,” he said. “Though am disappointed but I think the good team won”. It is very sad but it is sport. I am happy for the Thai team because they show a lot of strenght, concentration and team work.” Kugimiya told reporters.


     Going to the side of the Thailand fans. It was celebration galore for the fans.One of the Thai fans Chermarn Boonyasak said,” I am really happy,this victory is for the whole Thai people.They did a great job,we are very proud of them.”
