Srinakharinwirot to open new faculties
They will open new faculties next year

BANGKOK — Srinakharinwirot University announced on Wednesday
26th that next year the university will open new faculties, Faculty of Marine
Science and the Faculty of Architecture, in both Thai Program and International
Program.
Asst. Prof. Dr.
Chalermchai Boonyaleepun, the rector of Srinakharinwirot University announced
in the Annual General Meeting 2012 that next year Srinakharinwirot University
will open new faculties such as Faculty of Marine Science and the Faculty of
Architecture. “We decided to open these
faculties for a long time,” Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalermchai said. “By the way, to
welcome to ASEAN, we will open in both Thai Program and International Program.”
Asst. Prof. Dr.
Chalermchai explained about the special thing of this faculty is to not belonging
to Faculty of Science like other universities. “In Thailand, we are the second
university that has the Faculty of Marine Science,” Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalermchai
said. “Anyway, we are confident in our professors, equipment and building that
ready for student in next year.”
For the Faculty of
Architecture, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalermchai said that after we are in the ASEAN
this faculty will become important because architects are a career that will
never losing their job. Including our
university are renowned in Faculty of Art, so the Faculty of Architecture
should receive attention from students.
Asst. Prof. Sineenart Laedpriwan, dean of
the Faculty of Fine Arts support that the special of the Faculty of
Architecture is to having five different department such as Department of
Industrial Design, Department of Architecture, Department of Interior, Department
of Landscape Architecture and Department of Urban and Regional Planning.
“The reason why we
decided to open several kind of department because we see the importance of
this faculty and to show that we are ready in professors to support our student,”
Asst. Prof. Sineenart said.
In addition, Asst. Prof. Dr. Chalermchai also said that, he has a plan to open a new major that study about to ASEAN too.
